Did I say smooth sailing this morning?

Well, I spoke too soon. Everything has turned out to be okay so let me just say that right off the bat. BUT I had a major scare today at my parents house with some out of the blue bleeding. Scary bleeding. My mom took me to the doctor immediately and Brett and my dad met us up there. Turns out that it was due to a separation between my placenta and uterine wall. That sounds really scary because of the implications that situation would have later in pregnancy but the doctor said that it is really no big deal and that it is no indication of placental issues to come at all. Good news is that the placenta is at the top of the uterus....right where it should be. Also good news is that the heartbeat has increased to 140bpm since Monday and I guess should keep rising for the next couple of weeks. Last bit of good news is that we got another sonogram so here is another picture of Sprout for you all...

Happy 7 week birthday, Sprout!

I promise we are not going to be those parents that celebrate a birthday every week...well, publicly anyways...but today I am officially 7 weeks pregnant which is a new record for us! We feel so good about this and feels like it is smooth sailing (emotionally speaking) from here on out. Our first appointment with Dr. Farrow (OBGYN) is next week and thankfully that means I can stop taking progesterone shots every night because I must say it is getting pretty sore back there. In other news, my mom has decided to let Chelsea and I pick her "grandma name" for our children to call her. It took us about 5 seconds - is still not written in stone - but we are pretty sure we have nailed it down. We will let my mom know at Thanksgiving when Chelsea comes in town. So exciting! We don't have to worry about my dad because he wants to be "Papa" no matter what. So ____& Papa it is!!! Stay tuned...

Beauty School Dropout

Soooooo....most of you may not know this but I am NOT a natural blonde. I know, I know....shocking! Anyhow, there has not been one time that I have expressed a concern to any of my doctors that they have validated it...so I almost didn't even ask this question thinking they would laugh it off. I was wrong. I have been ordered NOT to color my hair! I tried to remind my doctor that I was not a natural blonde as well! Anyhow, TOTALLY SMALL price to pay and it is only for the first trimester. But still, just thought I would put this info out there in the world in case you run into me and you wonder why my hair is two-toned...haha. What's even more funny is how Brett has been saying to me for years that he hopes our children have my blonde hair! Guess the cat is out of the bag now!

Introducing Sprout!
(insert sigh of relief)

We are soooooooo excited!! Here is our precious little Sprout!
Everything went great at the sonogram. Sprout has a beautiful heartbeat that we got to hear. It was amazing to finally hear our child' heartbeat (128 bpm) and so reassurring. Sprout is measuring 6 weeks 5 days and I am only 6 weeks and 4 days so it is nice to be a day ahead of schedule rather than behind. The baby is supposed to be between 5 and 12 mm and Sprout is 8.10 mm so right smack dab in the middle! PERFECT!
Our official due date is
May 19, 2011
...counting sheep...
Today is the day.....and I hardly got a wink of sleep last night!
Cannot WAIT to see that little fluttering heartbeat!
Stay tuned...

...6 weeks & counting...

Sprout is 6 weeks today! And Sprout must really like milk! I have always been a milk drinker but I am about to polish off a gallon that I bought at the beginning of this week.....myself! Yep, right out of the carton...no waiting...can't get enough. Sprout also loves filet mignon....go figure! haha! Champagne taste already! On a more serious note, this is a really important week for us because our first pregnancy ended just before 7 weeks. So , even though I feel great about this pregnancy and our little Sprout, it will feel good to get over that hump. Our sonogram is Monday so we will have an update then!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

FINALLY....we are expecting again! Our in-vitro worked and we are on our way to having a May baby!!!! We are super excited and cautiously optimistic all that the same time if that is possible. What a looooong and agonizing three years.....let's hope this one sticks! Our first beta came in at 192 and our second, four days later, came in at 1030 so things are progressing as they should. Our first sonogram will be on September 27th at 6 weeks and 4 days. This is a little earlier than they typically do the first sonogram but definitely early enough to confirm a heartbeat, which is the goal of this one for us. So here is the first picture of our little ones. One or both of these little perfect embryos is now our baby and we can't wait to meet him/her in May. Oh, also...for the sake of not having to call the baby "it" we have named it "Sprout". For anyone interested, there is a pregnancy ticker at the bottom of our blog that tells you how far along we are, gives you kind of an idea of Sprout looks like right now and how far we have to go....which right now is 242 days! hahaha! If you click on it there is a larger timeline that is pretty neat to look at!

Hope everyone says a prayer tonight for all of the other couples out there who haven't been successful yet and are wanting children of their own. We will always have a special place for all of those couples in our hearts. It is one of the most heart wrenching, trying, frustrating, just plain sad things that you can go through and believe you me....we are so grateful and know just how lucky we are.
