Happy 11 Week Birthday, Little One!

One more week and HELLO SECOND TRIMESTER!

...Home Sweet Home...

Here are a couple of camera phone pictures of the lot we are building on. The first shows a little more of the front and the second one is a side shot. Brett said that we could just move into the construction trailer and save some money but we ultimately decided against it. Actually within the next couple of weeks the trailer should be gone along with all of the fencing and woodpiles and miscellaneous stuff they have kept there while building the neighborhood.

Can't wait to get this thing going and have all of you over to visit!

i hate progesterone!!!

So, another doctor's appointment today but it was pretty uneventful. She was checking for Fetal Heart Tones (listening outside the belly) but it was too early so yep...two more weeks, at least, of progesterone. I am SO anxious to get off all these synthetic hormones! I was looking at my calendar today and noticed that I started taking hormones on July 25th so we are about to go on three months...it is time to set down the progesterone and pick up a glass of wine! ha! Just joking, Dad! Everything else was great though. We are 10 weeks today - which means that if it is a little baby boy that he will start producing testosterone this week. And I must say that I have been WAY into this whole Texas Rangers thing....just saying?

Our next appointment is on November 4th and then immediately following that is our NT Scan on November 9th. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! Brett is going hog hunting with his dad this weekend so I am hoping to get some great pictures of that to post next week!

Exciting News!

Earlier this week Brett and I decided to put our house on the market. We still absolutely LOVE our house but we found a lot and a house that we felt that we could love just as much so we decided to put ours on the market to see what would happen. Well, turns out someone else loved our house just as much as us and made us an offer on the 5th morning of it being on the market! It was a good offer but since we don't HAVE to move we decided to counter offer and they accepted! Yay! The best part is that we won't close until mid-December and then they are going to lease the house back to us until our house is built. So we will be able to have one more holiday season at our home and then move into our new home before the baby comes. So needless to say I have already been doing tons of research on how to design and decorate the new house - and it is SO much fun! We are so exciting about the space (nice big playroom) that we will have there and building our new family in this home! Oh, guess I should say that it is in Frisco and just about 10 minutes from where we live now - in between Tollway and Preston. We can't wait to show all of you the new house once it gets up and going and definitely once it is done!

...FINAL DEADLINE...

Today is the FINAL deadline of the year to get your taxes in....which means....that I will FINALLY get my husband back for the rest of the year! Brett really works his tail off during each tax season and this one has been no exception - usually getting home around 1am. We are both so glad for the days of coming home around 4 or 5 and getting to have dinner together to be back! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

PS...If you like scary movies for Halloween I would suggest watching Gothika if you haven't seen it. My mom, Sophie, Campbell, Maggie & I had dinner and movie night here at my house last night and watched that and it was a really good thriller! Tip: We bought it at Movie Trading Co. for $4

...SPROUT...

We are just shy of 9 weeks and had our last sonogram of the first trimester today. It went great and we were so excited! Sprout is starting to look so much more like a baby, measuring right on schedule and has a heartbeat of 180 bpm! We can't wait to meet this little booger!

...The Culprit...

Well...had a not so good dinner experience (or after dinner should I say) tonight and I think that it is the garlic. This is not a good thing that our baby doesn't like garlic since Brett and I eat it by the cloves without judgement. But both times that my nausea has pushed me to the point of getting sick I have eaten meals heavy on the garlic. So goodbye garlic for the next 7 months or so! Another sonogram picture coming tomorrow!

Sugar n' Spice

One of the things that I like about it taking so long for us to get pregnant is that I get the opportunity to be pregnant with my best friend, Peyton! We are due 2 months apart and getting to experience all this fun stuff together! Well...Peyton had the sonogram today that determines if she is having a boy or a girl and.......................

It's a Girl!

We are so happy for both Peyton and her husband Ryan. Although a little worried about Ryan...haha! They are going to be great parents to this little girl! And I can't WAIT to give her a best friend in our baby!!!

So we had another doctor's appointment this afternoon. Nothing to eventful happened. They took some blood, did an exam, talked to us about some 12 hour classes they give at the hospital that I can promise you that I will not attend and gave us some benchmarks for our pregnancy. Our next sonogram will be next week and then 3 or so weeks after that we will do the NT screen....mostly just to see little Sprout. After the appointment, we decided to stop by and have some dinner at Macaroni Grill. Which was delicious until it was coming back up. Yep, had my first "morning sickness" episode tonight. Which makes sense because I seem to feel a little nauseous after big meals sometimes and a heavy meal from a place like Macaroni Grill just threw me over the edge. No biggie....just no more big meals. Hope everyone is having a great week so far!!

so bad I almost peeled one and ate it right there!

From 1980 to 2011...

While we look forward to seeing who this little person is that we have been wanting to meet for so long, I thought it would fun to look at some baby pictures of Brett and me. I don't think we look anything alike but you decide for yourself. The fish, naked pose and toilet (thanks, Mom!) pictures I put out there just for fun! I was so glad to find the fish photo of me in Indian Princesses since there are so many pictures like that of Brett. (Although at some point I might show you all of our dance recital pictures and then pull out the one picture of Brett in a tutu! haha!) As you can see, Brett is comfortably holding the fish and I am making a yucky face and pulling my hands back!

ok...so I am pretty sure that I can see Sprout's cute little face! The picture on the left is what the baby looks like right now. Two eye sockets and a little nose. On the sonogram the round structure that has the word BABY over it it not part of the baby it is providing nourishment right now. So to the right of that is the baby. Can you see the two eye sockets and nose like structure? I can....Sprout is looking right at us!!! Also the head makes up the majority of the baby right now if you are wondering why it is so big.
