Sorry for the serious look on my face....that does not at all reflect how excited I am about this baby bump! :) I am just focusing on working the camera phone :). It is hard to believe that we are 5 months pregnant...WOW! Tomorrow is our 20 week appointment so we will have some more sono pictures to share with you all...yippee!
And it begins! Now that I am FINALLY starting to get over being sick and the new year is right around the corner, I have a sudden urge to clean, organize and of course decorate every square inch of this house! This is going to be such an exciting time of this pregnancy.......getting our "nest" ready for our precious little Kate Hatley!
Okay, I did it, I bit the bullet and bought Kate her first bathing suits! I have been so excited about this since the day we found out we were having a girl! They are the CUTEST things I have ever seen! I can already tell that I am in going to get myself into some big time trouble in Janie & Jack! Here are some other Spring/Summer things I picked up...they are hard to find in the middle of Winter so I can't wait until the first of the year when the real shopping begins!$!$!$!$!
Daddy's Girl!!
We will see how long this lasts!
Of course, for the accountant's daughter!
Daddy's little Dallas Cowboy's fan!
Of all the pink, girly things that we have for her, this is one of my favorites!
It is so soft!
ADORABLE little outfit from Mimi!
To be sick
It is NO fun to be sick and not be able to take anything. Don't get me wrong, I would NEVER complain about being pregnant after the fiasco that was the last 3 years....but being sick without meds is MISERABLE. I am SO glad that I listened to my sister-in-law, Kristen, and got the flu shot a couple of months ago because I don't know what I would do with the flu. Torture! Anyways, here's to being on the tail end of it and getting this out of the way before Christmas to put a positive spin on it. (insert half smile.....and a sneeze ;))
Hope everyone has a great weekend! We are going to do Christmasy things and celebrate with Mimi & Pops!
Don't tell my mom that I ate marshmallow creme straight out of the jar! What happens at Jen's stays at Jen's!
Spooning!
I am a one year old now!!!
Sisters!!!
My cousin, Reese, celebrated turning one today and we all went over there to celebrate with a milk & cookies party! Everyone had a great time and she loved her first "cell phone" and pink Christmas pajamas that we got her! Reese and Kate are going to be great playmates one day!
What a horrible, horrible day we had yesterday. I have noticed that Maggie has been licking her paws a lot lately (which usually is a sign of allergies in dogs) so I have been giving her Benadryl off and on to help. Then I took a better look at her foot (she has lots of "powder puff" hair on her paws that makes it hard to really see it) and noticed that she seemed to have an infection on one of her toes. So I cut all of the hair off of her paw and began putting hydrogen peroxide on it and wrapping it in gauze and an Ace bandage to keep her from licking it more so it could heal. Well, yesterday I took her bandage off and poor dog....her toenail came OFF! I called the vet immediately and went in to the office. They took a look at all of her toenails and the insides of them all looked abnormal so they ran bloodwork on her. (They also told me that hydrogen peroxide irritates and inflames infections in dogs) Well, the vet just called this morning and said that Maggie has an autoimmune disease like Lupus that attacks her paws and toenails. I feel so bad for her :(. So we are getting her on steroids and some other medications right now and then will have to manage this for the rest of her life. Poor Maggie, she is such a good dog. Hopefully, the treatment will be effective and she will go on as normal because they said that the worst case scenario is that all of her toenails will continue to get infected and fall off which could cause lameness and even amputation in some cases. :( :( :( :( :(
It doesn't quite look like this today but what a beautiful picture! I hope that it looks like this again this Christmas Day! After lots of back and forths and contemplating Brett and I have pulled out of building the new house. The contract fell through on our house and they haven't broken ground yet on the new house (making it seem like we might be having to move with a newborn instead getting settled in first) and everything seemed to pointing in the direction that the best idea was to stay put in this home that we love. So that is what we have decided to do! With that final decision of course, the ball starting rolling on the nursery and the now the room has been painting a gorgeous soft pink color and the furniture has been ordered. The crib is even here and put together! Very exciting!
We hope all of you have a wonderful weekend and are having a joyous Christmas season so far!
Chelsea and I have finally picked out a "grandma name" for my mom! Libby was what everyone called my mom growing up so it seemed to have a personal touch that some of the other names didn't have (and she refuses to be called her mom's grandma name...Biggie lol).
Soooo....Papa & (Grandma) Libby it is!
